About Tinahely Playgroup

Community Playgroup and Crèche
  • Welcoming place that engages each child.

    Our Mission Statement
At Tinahely Community Playgroup and Crèche we are committed to providing an affordable, stimulating and nurturing environment, in which children are valued, encouraged and respected regardless of gender, race, disability or religion. Our aim is to enable the growth and development of children through play and to be the stepping stone between home and primary education
  • Friendly atmosphere plus quality childcare.

Our board of directors and management team are responsible for the overall running of our lovely purpose built centre. We are committed to being open, inclusive, welcoming and respectful of everyone using the centre. We are a non profit making organisation and as a result we strive to keep costs to a minimum.

We are dedicated to working in partnership with parents/guardians to the benefit of each child’s individual development.

  • Dedicated classrooms with top skilled educators.

To nurture each child’s stage appropriate developmental progress we adhere to the Child Care Regulations and implement Aistear: the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework we also incorporate the Principles of Sìolta and their 16 standards of quality.

To ensure the smooth and effective running of our childcare centre we have compiled a Policy Folder, which outlines policies and procedures we adhere to for the safety, and welfare of all children, staff parents. A copy of these policies and procedures are on display in the main entrance hall.

  • Relevant and meaningful experiences make learning more enjoyable and positive for children. On-going assessment of what children do, say and make, and reflection on these experiences helps practitioners to plan more developmentally appropriate and meaningful learning experiences for children. This also enables then to improve their practice. Assessment is about building a picture of children’s individual strengths, interests, abilities, and needs using this to support and plan for their future learning and development
